- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Never place a burning candle near
flammable objects including, curtains,
lampshades,
or bedding.
- Always place your candles on a heat
resistant surface and never directly on
furniture.
- Keep burning candles away from drafts.
- Always supervise children when in a room
with burning candles.
- Keep candles free of foreign material
such as matches, paperclips, and wick
clippings.
- Keep the wick trimmed to ¼ inch to avoid
excessive smoke.
- If the candle container is cracked, do
not burn the candle.
- Never lit a candle when there is less
than ½ inch of wax remaining.
- Whenever possible use a hurricane globe
or candleholder.
